Change can be scary, but it's also how we grow.
For children ages 4-8, parents, educators, and anyone who believes in helping little ones find their wings.
This wholesome and engaging story teaches empathy and courage through acts of kindness and community by following a young, monarch caterpillar too afraid to fly.
With his new friends Larry, a blackbird; Samantha, a sewer rat; and Red, the overly caffeinated squirrel, Kibble learns that courage isn't about being fearless - it's about taking flight anyway to discover who he's meant to be.
A classroom favorite with a FREE audiobook companion.
Perfect for early readers, curious minds, nature enthusiasts, bedtime stories and social-emotional learning.
Full-color diagrams after the story include:
- The life cycle of butterflies and moths
- Monarch butterfly and caterpillar Fun Facts
- The process of pollination
- How a monarch caterpillar forms a chrysalis
Whether your child is starting school, moving to a new home, or simply learning to be brave. "Kibble" reminds them that change can lead to beautiful and exciting new discoveries.
"Kibble" blends science and storytelling to inspire curiosity about nature and confidence in life's transformations.

I gifted Kibble the Caterpillar, both Mom and daughter loved the book! The colorful illustrations, sweet friendship story, and free garden seeds were a hit. The audiobook was easy to gift and download too! I highly recommend this book!
My 8 year old daughter loves Kibble. She read the book three times in the past year. She loves all the characters in the book and the I think this book would help other children learn that trying new things can be scary, but sometimes when we try, we can find things that make us happy too. And this book will help others know that mistakes are okay and part of learning. My 6 year is starting to read the book as well. Highly recommended.
We were given this book as a gift. It is so well written and quite educational!
I think all ages would appreciate the lessons along with the detailed stages of caterpillar evolving into a butterfly.
Gracie loved your book.
She took the book to school to share with her teacher and classmates.
They loved it.
I bought this book for my daughter and she loves it. She giggles every time Red says “Peanut!”. Definitely puts a smile on my face knowing how much this book has made such an impact on her. I cannot imagine not having purchased it. This is a MUST BUY.
My husband and I took our 9yr. old niece to a book reading of Kibble. We thoroughly enjoyed this story as much as our niece. So much of the author’s wonderful imagination revealed in this must-buy book. We purchased an extra copy to keep on hand for a gift.
I bought this book for my autistic son and he loved it especially the wonderful illustrations and the accompanying audio cd. My son was entertained and stayed focus throughout which is normally a challenge. I highly recommend this book especially for those with special needs children.
An education read with cute illustrations. The print quality is great and even comes with an audio book. Makes for a great gift … my nephew loved it!
